Update

May 2, 2006.......

1st off, thank you for keeping Cason in your prayers and for stopping in to read how Cason is doing. We have moved to Jacksonville, Florida in order to get Cason closer to a children's hospital. We were constantly being either air lifted or gound transported to out-of-town hospitals. When Cason would get sick, we never knew where we would end up. The children's hospitals in our surrounding area were always booked up and we were always sent to the closest hospital with an available bed. That could be anywhere from Pensacola, Tallahassee, Gainseville, and more recently Mobile, Al. I never knew what direction we would be sent. Here in Jacksonville they have Wolfson's Children's Hospital and it is 12 miles from our house.
Cason is doing well. He is getting so big so fast. He has always had such a hard time gaining weight and I am proud to say that Cason has went from 21 1/2 pounds to 25 pounds in 2 months!! Yeahhhh!!!!!! Cason!!!!!! My back can feel every pound, lol. He looks like a little boy now, instead of a little baby. The only medical problems he has had are my fault. I pulled his feeding tube out about a month ago then Corey pulled it out a few days ago. Needless to say, I can now replace a feeding tube very well. I had never done it before then. Please continue to pray for Cason's physical well being.
Cason is doing very well with his sign language. He can now sign about 120 words. Cason is so smart that I can not get over it. He has come out of his shell alot over the past couple of months. He is not nearly as shy as he used to be. He loves attention and loves to show off. He is also learning to be a toddler. Getting into trouble, seeing how far he can push it, seeing how much he can get away with (which of course is alot).
We have a very busy month ahead of us. Cason has appointments at the Neumor's Clinic to see a new pulmonologist, pediatric surgeon, and ENT. He also has a 1st time visit with the MD clinic to see a neurologist. We are all going to Disney World on May 18th-25th through Cason's Dreams Come True. We are so excited about that. Dreams Come True is a local orginization similar to Make a Wish. Dreams Come True organizes the trip and all of the funds are raised by a local school. Switzerland Middle School is raising all of the money for Cason's trip. They are having a "Celebration of Life" party for Cason on May 4th. This is a party to celebrate the wonderful joy that Cason has brought all of us and to celebrate the strength that God gave Cason to fight all of the hard battles that Cason has had to fight. It also gives the kids of Switzerland Middle School that opportunity to meet Cason and learn about him and about Muscular Dystrophy, paticularly Myotubular Myopathy. Cason will get to meet a whole school of children that care so much for him that they went out and raised thousands of dollars to send Cason on a 1st class trip to Disney that most of us only dream about. They pay for everything: 1st class lodging, all meals, spending money, rental car, everything. Please pray that Cason stays well and has a great vacation. I will update on the vacation when we return. Thanks to you all.
